Senior Majority Apartment Selection
The CSB Campus Apartments are available first to living groups with a Senior Majority of residents. This type of process is used by other campuses, including SJU, in the selection of apartments or living areas in high demand.
Register for Senior Majority Selection!
Here is how the process will work at CSB:
- Living Groups with a majority of residents who are part of the Senior Cohort (those who started at CSB in the fall of 2007 or earlier) will need to submit a request to participate in the Senior Majority Selection Process to the Residential Life Office no later than 4pm on Thursday, March 11th, 2009.
- Selection will be done using the same selection numbers as used in the regular selection process.
- The Residential Life Office will organize the requests and send an email to the groups who are participating to let them know when to come on March 18th to select housing. (Emails regarding your selection time will be sent by the end of the day on March 17th).
- Groups in which all members are in the senior cohort (those who started at CSB in the Fall of 2007 or earlier) will select apartments the first part of the evening(this is for both 4 person and 2 person apartments).
- Groups with 3 members in the senior cohort (those who started at CSB in the Fall of 2007 or earlier) and 1 member in the junior cohort (those who began at CSB in the Fall of 2008) will select apartments the second part of the evening on March 18th after the groups that are all seniors have selected housing.
- All other combinations of juniors and seniors in living groups will participate in regular room selection on March 25 & 30.
- Any remaining apartments will be selected in the Regular Room Selection Process on March 25 & 30.
Please contact your RD/RA/CA or the Residential Life Office should you have any questions regarding this process.
What are the chances for a group to get into Luetmer?
It is nearly impossible for us to make this prediction of who will get into any type of housing as it all depends on who lives with who and what their selection numbers are within the group. It is important for students to keep in mind that there are often more seniors interested in selecting housing on campus than there are apartments available in Luetmer. Groups should have alternate buildings in mind as not all seniors will get into Luetmer. Each year since the start of this process, Luetmer has been full prior to the end of Senior Selection. Groups not able to get into Luetmer may select housing in any of the remaining campus apartments in either East or West. Please note there are only twenty-six 4-person apartments in Luetmer and sixteen 2-person apartments in Luetmer. There are sixteen 4-person apartments available between McDonald, Wirth and Zierden.
