Speech Proficiency

Students must demonstrate speech proficiency in one of the following ways:

• A high school transcript showing satisfactory completion of a speech course in grade 10 or above with a grade of "B" or higher;
   
• Satisfactory completion of a college level speech course (the equivalent of Comm 111, or Comm 200) with a grade of "C" or higher;
   
• Satisfactory performance on the Speech Adequacy Test given by the Education Department (NOTE: Students who do not perform satisfactorily on the Speech Adequacy Test or whose public speaking performance is otherwise of concern, may be required to complete a college speech course.)
