All applicants must submit one form from each area:
All recommendation forms will be submitted online. These individuals will be contacted via email with a secure link to the on-line recommendation form. To request the emails be sent to your references, please complete the on-line form.
*This online form must be filled out in addition to the online application.
**You should speak with your prospective references BEFORE listing them on your application.** They should be familiar with your academic, personal or professional goals.
**If you plan to request an off-campus reference, please follow the instructions listed on the on-line form.

2. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on this page BEFORE moving to the on-line application.
3. Have the following information ready BEFORE you start the application: Medical insurance provider's name, address, telephone, fax, policy and/or ID number.
4. You may only submit an application for ONE program. Participation in a second program is on a space available basis only. Please discuss this plan with an Education Abroad Advisor.
5. YOU MUST PRINT OUT AND SIGN the Agreement/Waiver Signature Form. Both you AND your parent must sign this form.
6. One recommendation form is required from EACH of the 3 areas (4 are required if you are applying for a language program). OEA will only accept 1 reference from each of the requested areas. Please complete the following form to request your references now to allow adequate time for your references to complete the form. An email will be sent to the references which you indicate on the application form.
The deadline to be considered for first-round interviews was Friday, January 15th, at 4:30 PM. However, it is not too late to study abroad. Students can submit an application to study abroad and interview during the second-round. This on-line application and medical form must be completed and electronically submitted by the applicant by Noon on Wednesday, February 10 . Students will be notified via email on February 5th about which programs still have space available.
Every study abroad applicant will be required to have three references. You need to request one reference from each of the following areas:
- Faculty or Academic Advisor
- Non-Faculty Member
- Faculty Member
You should request references from individuals who can assess your academic performance, motivation, and ability to work in a group. Only 1 recommendation form from each of these areas will be accepted. Please request that they submit the online reference form by the application deadline (Friday January 15, 2010).
The Language Recommendation Form is required for the programs in Austria, Chile, France, Guatemala and Spain. The Language Recommendation Form should be completed by an instructor who can attest to your abilities in the program's language.
This form, along with the required signatures (PARENT & STUDENT), must be submitted to the Office for Education Abroad, by Friday, January 15, 2010 at 4:30PM.
Please make your check payable to: OEA. This must be submitted with your Agreement/Waiver Signature Form. This fee covers emergency evacuation, repatriation of remains and miscellaneous insurance, group visa fees, and application processing fees. This fee is non‑refundable if you are accepted for a program, and will be refunded if you are not accepted.
Four passport quality photos must be submitted with your Agreement/Waiver Signature form and application fee (due on or before January 15, 2010). These photos are required for your visas, foreign university application, international student ID card, etc.
(January 25 – February 4, 2010) with the Program Director. You will be notified via email by the Faculty Director how to set up an interview time.
1. A transcript: this will be requested by the Office for Education Abroad for all CSB/SJU applicants.
2. Behavior Violation Records: Any behavior violations will be requested by OEA for all CSB|SJU applicants. If you have questions or concerns about your violations, please contact the Dean of Students Office.

1. Students will be advised of first round acceptance via email on February 5, 2010. The official letter of acceptance will be sent by March 12, 2010. Your acceptance letter will contain the schedule for your pre-departure activities and on-site calendar.
2. Applicants are advised to have a 2ndor 3rd choice program in mind. If you are not accepted to your first choice program, you will have an opportunity to interview for your second or third choice on a space available basis. You will be contacted by OEA with additional details following the first round.
3. Save the date: Required Pre-Departure Orientation for all students going abroad Fall 2010 on Saturday, March 20th, 2010. More details to follow.
Cancellation Policy & FeesWithdrawal from a study abroad program must be made in writing to the Office for Education Abroad. OEA reserves the right to not fill a space resulting from a student's withdrawal. Refunds for tuition and any recoverable fees on the program site are made to any student who withdraws during the semester abroad by formal written notice according to the general refund policy in the Course Catalog. In the case of withdrawal due to serious health matters and accidents, all recoverable fees will be refunded with the exception of the $225 application fee. Written notification from the student is required, in addition to a doctor's statement. |

The $225.00 application fee is not refundable after January 15, 2010, except if the applicant does not receive acceptance to a program.
