Advent Songs and Gingerbread Houses! - Tuesday, December 1
A traditional Austrian celebration of Advent with costumes, songs, and decorating gingerbread houses (and a possible visit by St. Nikolaus and his demon friend, KRAMPUS)! Centenary Room (Quad 264) all evening

French Lyric Festival - Wednesday, February 10
The event starts with a reception (3:30 pm), lecture and concert on 15th-century music by Asteria Musica from 4:15-5:15 pm, AV 1, Alcuin Library, followed by French Song and Poetry Festival at 5:30 pm. Little Theater, Quad 346, SJU.

Waltz Evening - Saturday, February 13
Formal Valentine's Day dinner and dancing in the Great Hall – with brief lessons on how to waltz, polka, and schottisch! SJU

Greek film: Iphigenia - Tuesday, February 23

Kakoyannis, 1977) in modern Greek, English subtitles. Based on the ancient Greek tragedy by Euripides. 7:00-9:00 pm, Quad 346, SJU

Chinese film: Please Vote for Me - Tuesday, March 9
(Chen Weijun, 2007) in Mandarin, Eng. subtitles. Chronicles a public school’s first open elections; part of the Why democracy? documentary project. 7:30-9:30 pm, Gorecki 120B, CSB

Japanese film: Kamome Shokudo (Kamome Diner) -Monday, March 22
(Ogigami, 2006) Japanese with English subtitles. A hilarious story of three Japanese women running a restaurant in Helsinki.

Richard Strauss’s opera, Salome - Thursday, April 15
At the Ordway, performed in German by the MN Opera Company.
