As an academic major in a practice discipline, nursing students have opportunities to apply principles and concepts from the liberal arts and nursing science to the provision of nursing care for individuals, families and communities. These learning opportunities occur in a variety of settings in the Central Minnesota community. Curriculum Model & Clinical Experience Sites
The nursing laboratory provides students with opportunities to practice basic skills before assignment to the patient care areas.
In the computer lab, students participate in simulated patient situations that test problem-solving and decision-making skills. An expanded computer lab offers the student a wide range of interactive learning experiences. Students have the opportunity to make nursing judgements prior to caring for clients in the clinical setting.
The Nursing Club sponsors speakers, an annual career day and numerous social events. Students can participate or hold office in the National Student Nurses’ Association.
As health advocates in the CSB wellness program, nursing students have an opportunity to educate their fellow students about various health issues.
