Chris has had many valuable experiences during his four years at Saint John's University. He participated in a service trip to Peru through Campus Ministry, and spent a semester in the MUST (Metro Urban Studies Term) program. These activities helped pave the way to an internship for Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights, where his duties included prescreening and interviewing potential asylum applicants.
Chris's experiences have helped him hone in on his interests which include the relationship between religion and social services, faith in social movements, and service-learning. Consequently, Chris hopes to spend a year after graduating facilitating service learning in Brazil. After that he plans to pursue a career either as a sociologist focusing on civic engagement, an immigration lawyer, or a professor with a focus in international travel.
His advice for Peace Studies majors: "Actively seek opposing opinions, get to know your wonderful faculty, and fight like hell for peace."
