Description: POLS 222, Finding and Using Evidence in Political Science (4 credits); Focuses on how to investigate and learn from scholarly work in all areas of political science. Students form hypotheses in response to political questions, use a variety of methods and tools to gather evidence, and identify criteria for evaluating the quality of evidence. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Offered every year.
Recommended Prerequisite For: US Politics or Public Policy track of studies in Political Science. For example if you plan to take 300 level courses in Congress, The Presidency, The Public Bureaucracy, Media and Elections, Theory and Public Policy, and The Public Sector then you should take POLS222. This course is strongly recommended for students who are considering graduate school later on.
