Fifty-three registrants attended this session in the Alumnae Hall, Haehn Campus Center at St. Ben’s. Following a luncheon, with the use of a Power Point show, Jenny provided us with information on recognizing distress in students during their first year, sophomore year, junior year and senior year. Attendees broke into assigned groups for each year and had to identify what stressors they felt impacted our students. This information was shared with everyone.

Jenny provided attendees with a useful handout on Recognizing Distressed Students. This handout not only gave general information, but also campus resources in appropriately assisting students in distress. To obtain a copy of this handout please contact the Counseling Services Department.
Following the event, there was a drawing for door prizes. In addition to three SELT water bottles, two books recommended by Jenny were used. They were Real College: The Essential Guide to College Life, by Douglas Stone & Elizabeth Tippett and The Ultimate College Survival Guide, by Janet Farrar Worthington & Ronald Farrar.
