Rooney Endowment Grant Awarded to E-Scholar Megan Kack

CSB junior Megan Kack along with management professor Sanford Moskowitz were recently awarded a Rooney Endowment Grant of over $7,000 to further examine cultural and social issues that can hinder the diffusion of advanced dental hygiene products in developing countries. Megan is a biology major and pre-dental student. In addition to being an E-Scholar, she was enrolled in Prof. Moskowitz’s Global Entrepreneurship class and participated in a recent trip to China. The project, which is a combination of the social sciences with the biological sciences it titled: “The Promotion and Marketing of Dental Hygiene in Rural China: Development of a Case Study for International Business."

Megan will return to China for approximately four weeks to conduct intensive research on the project. When she returns, she will work with Prof. Moskowitz over the final few weeks of the project to finish the research and write up the results and prepare a draft of the case study.

The Rooney Endowment Grant funds summer fellowships for students to work in collaboration with CSBSJU faculty on multi-disciplinary projects with a health emphasis. It provides funding for both the student and faculty moderator.
